Raquel Ramati, architect and urban designer, is president of Raquel Ramati Associates Inc. She has earned an international reputation as an urban designer and planner, first in New York City's government, and later as a private consultant working with developers, government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and community groups.
Ms. Ramati designs master plans and acts as a development consultant for site selection, zoning analysis, design guidelines, processing, architectural and open space planning. She develops feasibility studies of New York's major sites. In that capacity, she has analyzed over 200 sites in the City. The studies include architectural zoning bulk diagrams, analysis of maximum floor area, air rights usage, Landmark buildings and all other regulations relating to the potential developments.
Internationally, Raquel Ramati is currently working in Europe, the Far East, and Israel. The author of a signature planning book How to Save Your Own Street, she is presently teaching at the Real Estate Graduate Program at the Columbia University School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.
